This vertical orientation is a layout choice commonly used in Japanese text design, and it changes how the quote is read and experienced on the garment — rather than being read at a glance across the chest, it runs down the side of the body in a single column. The text is printed in white, and against the black fabric, it reads with clear, sharp contrast. The front print contains no illustration, keeping the design minimal and allowing the vertical text format itself to be the primary visual element.

Together, the front and back use the same quote in two different formats — horizontal beneath a full illustration on the back, and vertical and standalone on the front.
